If the rate of a reaction is a fraction such as 1.3, would the rate be considered as 1? If the rate is found to be 1.3, it should not be approximated to 1. the difference of 0.3 units when dealing with rates could be significant. The order of a reaction may be approximated to the nearest whole number. If the order is calculated using the initial rates method, the exact value should be stated and then you can show it approximated to the nearest whole number.
